Between the Lights. First edition, first impression, of this collection "of mystical tales, of folk-legend, ghost-lore, and verse, and one or two real and actual psychic experiences" (jacket). Margaret Baillie-Saunders (1873-1949) was a prolific author who developed her history and romance novels to incorporate the weird, including in the present work and Jill-o'-the-Wisp (1935), a supernatural drama based on British folklore.This uncommon work is not listed in Bleiler's Guide to Supernatural Fiction nor Locke's A Spectrum of Fantasy, the standard fantasy bibliographies, however Jill-o'-the-Wisp is included in volume III of A Spectrum of Fantasy. Six copies of this edition have been traced institutionally worldwide, all in the UK and Ireland. It is occasionally found on the market, most often with the wraparound band removed.
