A colourful nineteenth-century print depicting of the Pocahontas story in the style of high melodrama. “In 1846, E. B. and E. C. Kellogg of Hartford joined forces with Horace Thayer and opened an office and store at 144 Fulton Street in New York City. Although the partnership lasted little more than a year, the firm published numerous lithographic prints during this period. When Thayer left the partnership to concentrate on map publishing, he continued to co-publish Kellogg prints.” (Connecticut Museum of Culture and History). Kellogg and Thayer became known for their colourful and affordable prints, often depicting biblical or classical scenes. Though an imperfect copy, this print appears to be rare. We have traced none through RBH or OCLC; there is an example at the Connecticut Museum.
