The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. A smartly bound copy of Norman Rockwell's illustrated edition. The artist's characteristically wholesome illustrations of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn "are among the best known depictions of these two famous literary characters" (ANB).In 1935 Rockwell (1894-1978) was commissioned by the fine press publisher George Macy (1900-1956), under his imprint The Heritage Press, to produce new versions of Twain's classic novels. He journeyed to Hannibal, Twain's hometown, to make preliminary sketches, before returning to his studio to paint.
