On Her Majesty's Secret Service. One of 500 uncorrected proof copies, here in the proof dust jacket. The front panel of the jacket bears the familiar illustration, while on the rear panel is a Soviet newspaper blurb, a design exclusive to the proof. Its textual errors were more extensive and required more amendments than for any other Fleming title in the proof stage.The proof was issued in October 1962, six months before the official publication date of 1 April 1963. The story was adapted into the 1969 film starring George Lazenby.
